Stitching Homework, New Starts and Framing

Good Sunday Morning to you all!   I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Since my last post I've been frantically trying to finish some pre-stitching homework for the Tree of Life Samplings retreat which is this Thursday - Sunday in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Most of our stitching group is going and we are all very excited!. Counting down the days:))

Here is the homework we needed to stitch -- a scissor fob, needlebook and pincushion.

Yesterday I pulled out a necklace kit that I purchased a couple of months ago and finished it up.  I'm really pleased with how it came out considering that there were no instructions on how to assemble all the little pieces together.

I finally picked up Melicent Turner at Welcome Stitchery and I LOVE how it came out.  I've used this frame moulding before and I will probably be using it again:))

Last weekend my husband went to Michigan and while there he bought this antique wooden bowl for me.  It's definitely big enough to hold all twelve months of the cottages.
Speaking of which, here is my itty-bitty start on the July cottage -- better get going on this!

The last couple of weeks I wasn't real focused on any stitching projects (I think because of the "have to do" homework for the retreat so  I went through some of my older projects to see if anything struck my fancy and I'm happy to say that this did!  This just makes me smile:))
Feather Your Nest
With Thy Needle and Thread
DMC on 40ct (1 over 2)

I also got an order from With Thy Needle and Thread last week.  Isn't that little purse just darling? and I LOVE the Strawberry Hill Sampler.  My friend Linda is working on it right now and I can't wait to see her progress:)

Thanks for visiting with me today.  I always appreciate the comments you take the time to leave -- they make my day:))

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!!!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Perfect Sunday In June

My Mom and Grandma used to say that there was always a "perfect Sunday in June" and today is that day in Chicagoland.  It is spectacular outside --  mid 70's, no humidity and just a gentle breeze.

I've been doing a little Patriotic stitching this past week and here is what I finished:

Liberty House
Ewe and Eye & Friends
40 ct Antique Cotton
w/Anchor and Gentle Art Threads

Last weekend I started this little beauty after seeing Karin's exquisite framed finish.  It's Roses in July by Needlework Press (I think) and it's a mere 3 1/2" square on 40 ct.  I just love the detail in the roses.  I took it in for framing yesterday and chose a very narrow moulding so that it will only be about 4" square.  I plan to put it on an easel.

This past Tuesday when I got home from work I opened my mailbox to find this wonderful package from Carol over at Stitching Dreams.  WOW! -- what a wonderful surprise to come home to.  Carol does such beautiful work and her finishing is top-notch.  I love the Chessie & Me design she included as well.  Thank you so very much dear friend!!

I hope everyone has a great Sunday and a wonderful week!  Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment:)

Until next time....
