Winter Wonderland

It certainly doesn't feel like a Winter Wonderland here in Chicagoland today.  It's supposed to be in the mid 50's!  Great day for getting the Christmas lights on outside.

I did finish Winter Wonderland by Blackbird Designs.  This is a loose feathers pattern from 2010

Here is my new start which is a little reproduction sampler by Brenda Gervais.  I just love the colors in this one.

I've been thinking about what my New Year's Day start is going to be and have tossed around a couple of ideas, one of which was Dorothy Walpole.  Well, when I saw on Nicola's blog that she was having a Scarlett Year in 2013 that kind of helped sway my decision to start on Dorthy.  I have many SL patterns in my stash but have never stitched one of their patterns.  Here are just 3 of them that I have kitted up.  Dorothy is so pretty and I just love the colors.  I'm going to stitch mine in DMC on 36ct Meadow Rue. Hopefully the fabric I ordered will be in before 1/1/13:)))  Join us for some great fun in 2013 stitching some beautiful reproductions by SL.

There are so many beautiful designs out there to stitch right now including this one which landed in my mailbox on Friday.  Isn't she gorgeous????  This will definitely be stitched soon too:))

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me.  I hope you are all enjoying this Holiday Season and finding some time to be with your family and friends and of course stitch!

Have a great week.

Your BBD turned out so nicely! It looks great. Nice choice for your SL sampler, too. I am trying hard to resist Frances Pool but know I'm going to cave as soon as I see WIP pics.

Brenda, you have been stitching like crazy! Your BBD finish looks great. J.M. Gardner is coming along nicely. I too joined the Scarlett Letter challenge and have also ordered Frances Pool. It would seem as though we are on the same stitching wavelength!!!

Beautiful stitchingBrenda. I have chosen vintage meadow rue for Dona Dorothea. I hope that it is as nice as it looks on the internet. Its never easy buying fabric without seeing the actual colour.

Isn't it fun to obsess over what to start on New Year's Day???!!!!!! Karin and I are thinking of starting Ragamuffin 2 sampler (????) by Shakespeare's Peddler. I want to go up to Scarlett Letter when they have an open house. Let's do it!!! Love your finish of Winter Wonderland and your pick of starting Dorothy on New Year's Day is the perfect idea!!!!

I love every sampler on your page, and this is the first time I've seen Frances Pool. Uh-oh! I'm working on Dorothy Walpole also.

Your Winter Wonderland is beautiful! I'm also always interested in what people use to stitch with. The only thing I haven't tried is those q-snap frames... looks like it keeps an even tension on the linen. The Francis Pool sampler landed in my mailbox last week too! I've admired that since her first sneak peek in the beginning of the year! :-) And, the SL stitch along is what finally pushed me over the edge to purchase the SDW sampler... I've been admiring that one for YEARS... I just need to sign on with Nicola to make it "official"! Happy stitching to you!

Oh, how pretty, Brenda--I really love Winter Wonderland and hope to stitch it myself one of these years :) Pretty new start, too. I'm not doing the Scarlett Letter Challenge, but look forward to following along with all of you as your samplers progress...

Hope your December is off to a wonderful start :)

Your sweet BBD finish is gorgeous as always! And you'll be having a red letter year for sure in 2013! Although, I'm pretty sure every year is a red letter one for you!
