Pincushion Finishes

Hello Stitching Buddies --
It's been a busy couple of weeks in my corner of the world.  Work continues at a very fast pace and at home we are just finishing up redoing our family room and living rooms.  After lots of rearranging, painting and cleaning I think we are just about done.  The most fun of the entire process was being able to rearrange my framing and give things a whole new fresh look.  We are very happy with how everything came out:))

Now on to some stitching. I finished the March cottage into a pillow this morning and here is a pic of the first 3 months in my wooden bowl.  If I stitch all 12 then I'm going to have to find a bigger bowl:)!
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now let me tell you a funny story about the next little finish.  A couple of weeks ago I wanted to stitch something small and went digging around and came up with this Little House Needleworks - Be True.  I got all the DMC thread pulled and the fabric and started stitching right away.   A few days later I was rearranging some little pillows down in my stitching room and lo and behold was this design already stitched and finished!  Can you believe it?  I certainly couldn't.!!!!  Out of ALL the stash that I have I chose to stitch this design TWICE and not on purpse either!  CRAZY I tell ya.  I think I'm going to take them both to stitching Sunday next week and see if one of the girls in my stitching group wants one of them:))
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm continuing to plod along with Elizabeth.  You can't tell from this picture but I finally finished the house so hopefully things will move along a bit faster now.  Still LOVING working on this.

Well that's about it from me this week.  Have you seen any new Nashville things that you can't live without?  I'm excited about the new Blackbird book and the Plum Street Sampler designs.  I'm sure there will be more that I will be adding but those are at the top of my list for now.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.  I always appreciate the time it takes to leave a comment.

  8. I love the coordinating ric rac trim on the LHN finishes...so sweet! Elizabeth is so beautiful! I have the silks to stitch this but can't decide on a linen color that won't "hide" the cream and tan threads. Your's pops on the Meadow Rue. Lovely progress!

    I've bought double before but never stitched double. That probably tells you something about my finish percentage!

  23. lol! Ok, I think you've topped the "I forgot" stories with that one. lol! Wow! You must really love that design! But it's wonderful, so I don't blame you for stitching it twice by accident. :D And the monthly pillows -- wow! How did you find such perfect ric rac for each one? They're wonderful all together like that! Elizabeth is gorgeous as well. I can't look -- I need to resist. :D

    How exciting that you are redecorating your family and living rooms! I really need to do my living room, too--am the world's biggest procrastinator when it comes to decorating!! Hope you still have some free time to stitch before your tax season hits big time :)

    Love the the little pin cushion you accidently stitched again! If you bring it to stitching I think you might have to institute a lottery because it is darling and I am sure everyone will wish it to be in their home!

    I've purchased a chart twice but I haven't stitched one twice yet. I'm not saying it couldn't happen though, lol!
    I've been checking out the market releases and I'm definitely leaning towards the PSS designs and well as some Shakespeare's Peddler. Chessie and Me has a cute new release too!

  40. Your cottages look beautiful, especially displayed together. 'Elizabeth Hancock' is coming along so nicely. I just purchased the chart, linen and threads last week for her, and yours is an inspiration to start very soon!

  41. What a lovely cottage display - so pretty!
    Be True is a sweet little design. I love Elizabeth too!

  42. LOL at you stitching the design twice! It is beautiful, though, so I can see why it'd call to you! I haven't done that yet, but I have forgotten that I've had things finished. I did that this past Christmas with an ornament. I thought I had it still to be finished and then when looking through my album, I saw I'd had a finisher do it for me a few years ago!

    I hope you'll share pics of your decorating re-do. It's nice to take things down and look at them with fresh eyes.

    Love your Elizabeth--that little dog is so cute!
