My First Exchange

Hello Friends --

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend:)) I had a great time at home and then visiting with my brother and his family over the weekend. The icing on the cake was that MICHIGAN beat Ohio State. GO BLUE!!!:)))))  It was a very exciting game!

I participated in my very first exchange over the last couple of months. I was very nervous since I had never done this before but my partner liked her piece and I just LOVE what she made for me.  Here are a couple of pics of what I received

 and the great extras:

If you go here you can see what I stitched and the extras I sent.

I don't have any current stitching pics to show you. I am working on a couple of projects but no finishes yet. It's back to work today so it will be a busy week.  This coming weekend we are getting our Christmas decorations out:)) My favorite part is the Christmas tree and I can't wait to get it all up and decorated.

Have a wonderful week and as always thank you for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello Stitchy Friends --
I hope you are all getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow with family and friends.  We are just having a small dinner here tomorrow and then on Friday we are heading to St Louis to celebrate with my brother and his family!

I've been off work for the last couple of days and I've had lots of time to do some stitching and finishing.  Here is some of what I've been up to.  I did the finishing on this LHN ornament

 Fa La La
Little House Needleworks
32 count Vintage Exampler
Recommended DMC and Crescent Colors

Last weekend I did the stitching on these two Biscornaments by Victoria Sampler.  I tackled the finishing today and boy let me tell you --these little buggers were very tedious.  They measure less than 2" square and it was quite challenging to get them sewn together but I think in the end they came out pretty good:))

Thanks for stopping by.  I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.  Enjoy the day and remember to count all your blessings -- big and small!  Life is short and we need to enjoy each and every day to the fullest.

Have a good weekend.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Hello Stitchy Friends ---
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  I sure did!  My youngest daughter came home to celebrate my husband's birthday and I was able to go to Inspired Needle on Sunday for stitching:)))

I finished the stitching on another ornament for Becky's Ornament Challenge:
 Fa La La
Little House Needleworks
32 ct Vintage Exemplar
DMC

Over the years I've stitched LOTS of ornaments for our Christmas tree.  When my daughters were in high school they also stitched ornaments too.  Well, our tree is very very full and there just isn't room for any more ornaments so my husband bought me this Spiral Metal Tree to hang up my new ornaments.  I just love the way they hang on this tree and the fact you can see them from all angles.  I ran out of hooks so I need to get some more so I can finish hanging all the BBD stockings.

Yesterday morning I got out some of my Chritmas things to display in my stitching room.  Here are a couple of snaps:

 I had someone e-mail about wanting to see my Scottie's.  Here is Fiona:
 and Bailee:

Just a little side note about how much these fur babies mean to us.  2009 was a very bad year for our family, my husband lost his job of 20 years, our beloved 13 year old Lucy (our first Scottie) died and a month later my Mom died.  By the end of July we needed something good in our lives.  We found a wonderful Scottie breeder in Indiana (Shady Nook Scotties) and set about getting Fiona and Bailee.  Bailee was born on 7/6 and Fiona was born on 7/8 (two different liters) my Mom died on 7/7.  We just know that these pups were meant to come live with us and help us through our grieving.  My Mom was a HUGE animal lover and this was just meant to be!!!  Fiona and Bailee are lots of work but they bring us unconditional LOVE every single day:))))

Thanks for visiting and for all your wonderful comments.

Have a great week:))

Ornament Mode:)

Hello Stitchy Friends --
Well I've been in ornament mode for the last few days.  I am participating in Becky's ornament challenge and have completed two ornaments.

 He's a Flake
Little House Needleworks
Recommended DMC and Crescent Colors
32 ct Gray Belfast
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Snowy Pines
Little House Needleworks
DMC
32 Count Waterlily Linen
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also finished this little gem by Little House Needleworks -- Pear Tree.  It doesn't count as part of the ornament challenge because I started it on 10/29/11 and I'm also going to have it framed.  I saw this done at House of Stitches in LaPorte, Indiana and I just loved the way they framed it in a tortoise shell type molding

I've got some more ornaments kitted up and now I just need to decide which one to stitch next.  Thanks again Becky for hosting this challenge:))

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week and hope you get lots of ornaments stitched!
